Canon Powershot D20 – Review

It is always interesting to explore sea and land around you since the underwater world is showing the nature that you can enjoy. Of course, you will need a device that is capable to support your activities. Waterproof digital camera is one of devices that you can use to documented those natural views underwater either photos or videos recording. Canon PowerShot D20 is rugged waterproof camera that is introduced to replace the previous model of D10.

It is designed fully sealed in order to withstand against dirt and moisture, and also using lens with fully folded design. This camera is waterproof to 10m and useable to depth of 40m. Besides that, it has passed shock test from a height of 1.5m and freeze-proofing at temperature at minus 10˚C.

This Canon’s waterproof camera comes with GPS abilities host. It is not only capable in tagging your images with the location they were captured but also capable in keeping your journey track via the GPS. Canon PowerShot D20 uses a sensor of back illuminated 1/2.3in and gives overall resolution of 12.1 MP.  As rugged waterproof camera, it is equipped with fully enclosed lens and protected by a toughened glass plane. Its lens is also folded design that will give a reputation for producing quality image. It is not easier to record videos using a PowerShot camera.

The Canon PowerShot D20 has a movie button that is dedicated for you to start and stop your recording instantly. You do not have to go through menu layers or operate dials or switched to move to and from mode of video recording. The camera is always standby to shoot or record whenever you want to do. This waterproof camera also puts a wind filter which can suppress noise from wind that can distort or muffle the sound. This waterproof camera also allows you to use the optical zoom in full range when you are recording a video.

I preordered this camera when it was first announced. I was a little disappointed when Amazon dropped the price before it even reached my house. I anticipated this camera not only for the waterproof capabilities, but also because it is shock proof…and probably because it was a Canon. Read More Here
